What a tough thing to think about – just 5 top moments – but hey, you all have better things to do.
It’s been a great 4 years and I will miss you guys, but I hope to see you at some of my shows with The Tom Cashman Experience.
So, here we go…
#5 – “The debut”
June 2008 – our first show at The Red Stallion in Warminster. We had our friend hook us up with pro audio and we sounded great! It all seemed like 5 minutes passed and it was over. After that show, we were quickly learning more and more songs and playing what seemed to be a show a weekend. It all starts with the first one.
#4 – St. Patrick’s Day Annual Bash at Squirrel Murphy’s
Fitting that my last show is on St. Patrick’s Day (3.17.12) at the place where we called home. SPD at Squirrel’s is just the greatest show of the year and everyone seems to have a great time. Since it’s on a Saturday this year – holy cannoli!
#3 – World Series 2008 at Squirrel Murphy’s
Rain delayed game and it was our first show there… man, Game 3 of the WS – Phils and Rays… we were planning on playing before and after the game, but I don’t think the game ended until close to midnight or 1 even – we jammed a hit set with a very excited crowd and I think that night is what solidified the great relationship we have with our fans and the great folks at Squirrel’s
#2 – Special Equestrians
We did a show for the Special Equestrians at the VE club and it was the proudest moment I ever had as a human. Everyone was so thankful and even one of the kids who benefits from Special Equestrians, sang a song with us and it melted our hearts. That Summer, I ran into the same kid – Tommy was his name, during a Memorial Day parade. He didn’t recognize me at first, until I showed him the photo from the show on my phone – then he lit up again like he did at the show – and so did I.
#1 – Shawn, Ray and Brian
Old friends who became new friends. What more could I possibly achieve? Guys who love to play, aren’t afraid to learn and study, and professionals towards our fans and hosts. Shawn will be my best man at my wedding, where I get to marry his beautiful sister. I am honored to have played with these guys and they are all in my original band, so it’s definitely not the end. Thanks guys!
I’ll say the rest of what I have to say on Saturday night – hope to see you all there and thank you for letting me play in front of you… much love.
